Around Dh20 billion are expected to be spent for making Dubai the location of some of the world's most distinguished theme parks. The ambitious target of Dubai to receive 15 million tourists by 2010 has witnessed the largest names in the worldwide entertainment business including US film studios Universal and Paramount Pictures, being attracted by the local companies. On accomplishing the current plans, Dubai will turn into a site for rides and attractions based on hits like Titanic and Mission Impossible. Guy Wilkinson, partner at Gloster Management Consultants-a hotel consultancy based in Dubai, said that the projects will play an important role in achieving Dubai's tourist targets up to and beyond 2010. He said that the main impact that the projects will be making, is to add lasting difference to holidays in Dubai. Wilkinson said, "These projects are very important to Dubai's future. The emirate has 160 confirmed hotel projects and just one day added to the average length of stay will have a significant impact on their business". He also said that connecting big names like Universal and Paramount to Dubai's attractions, will certainly be a tremendous pull for families from Middle Eastern region who travel most of the time to the US or Europe. Recently, Paramount Pictures granted permission to the real estate company Ruwaad Holdings to construct a theme park. However, at the June announcement, no location was found yet within the UAE. Hollywood-based Universal Studios will complete the Paramount Pictures' project.
