Gulf Air has come a long way since it started in 1950 as a small intra-Gulf commuter service to its present state as a major international airline. It is presently the national carrier for the Kingdom of Bahrain, the Sultanate of Oman and the Emirate of Abu Dhabi (UAE).

Gulf Air operates one of the largest networks in the Middle East stretching from Europe to Asia and its fleet of 34 modern aircrafts cover more than 45 cities in 32 countries.

Gulf Air is the official sponsor and airways of the Bahrain Grand Prix (Bahrain International Circuit), the first Formula One event in the Middle East.
